Offset Carbon Credits With Trees
Planting a tree may sound like an extrememly small piece of an enormous problem. After all, it's one tree.
But the truth is that just as your lungs pull in air when you inhale and provide your body with oxygen, trees take in CO2 from the atmosphere and provide the earth with oxygen.
So, if you want to increase your lung capacity, you exercise - one bead of sweat at a time.
Likewise, if you want to increase the earth's capacity to pull CO2 from the atmosphere and convert it into oxygen we have to provide more trees and allow them to grow.
That's the role of EnviroFX - one tree at a time and we couldn't do it with out financial support from people like you.
Planting Trees
So now you know why we choose refirestation as one way to put your carbon credits to use. But one has to wonder, "What kind of trees take in the most CO2?". That's a great question.
We want to get the most bang for your buck, right? Well, according to the US Department of Energy (DOE), the trees that absorbs the most CO2 from the atmosphere are long living and fast growing species.
Of course "long living and fast growing" greatly depends on geographic location. Because our reforestation project is located in Mississippi and among other reasons, our best option is to plant Loblolly Pines.
Loblolly Pines are native to this region and grow easily as long as they are given enough space and enough time to mature.
